The Valley of Flowers Trek takes you into one of the most breathtaking high-altitude meadows in the world — a UNESCO World Heritage Site nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas. Carpeted with hundreds of species of wildflowers, framed by snow-capped peaks and glacial streams, this valley bursts into colour every monsoon and turns into a living painting. Combined with a visit to the sacred Hemkund Sahib — one of the highest Sikh shrines in the world, set beside a pristine glacial lake — this trek blends natural beauty with spiritual serenity, making it one of the most soul-stirring treks in India.
Distance: ~295 km | Travel Time: 10–11 hrs | Altitude: ~6,600 ft (Govindghat)
Early morning departure from Rishikesh/Haridwar (~5:00 AM). Drive alongside the Alaknanda River through Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag — three of the sacred Panch Prayag confluences. Pass through Joshimath and descend to Govindghat/Pulna, gateway to both Hemkund Sahib and the Valley of Flowers.
Trek Distance: ~9 km | Trek Duration: 5–6 hrs | Altitude: ~10,200 ft (Ghangaria)
Trek alongside the Pushpawati and Lakshman Ganga rivers through pine and oak forests, waterfalls, and small wooden bridges. Ghangaria is the last inhabited settlement before both Hemkund Sahib and the Valley of Flowers, and serves as the base camp for the next two days.
Trek Distance: ~9 km round trip | Trek Duration: 6–7 hrs | Max Altitude: ~12,000–14,100 ft (varies by trail point)
Enter the Valley of Flowers National Park early morning. Walk through meadows blooming with Brahma Kamal, Blue Poppy, Cobra Lily, and hundreds of other Himalayan flower species (best bloom typically late July to early September). Surrounded by peaks like Rataban and Nilgiri Parbat, with the Pushpawati river cutting through the valley — a photographer's and nature lover's dream.
Trek Distance: ~12 km round trip | Trek Duration: 7–8 hrs | Max Altitude: ~15,200 ft (Hemkund Sahib)
A steep but rewarding climb to Hemkund Sahib, one of the highest Gurudwaras in the world, perched beside the glacial Hemkund Lake and ringed by seven snow-clad peaks. A place of deep spiritual significance and stunning natural beauty. Descend back to Ghangaria by evening.
Trek: ~9 km downhill to Pulna (4–5 hrs) | Drive: ~20 km Pulna to Joshimath (1 hr)
Descend back through the forest trail to Pulna, retracing the river valley. Drive to Joshimath and enjoy an optional evening stroll — visit Narsingh Temple and Shankaracharya Math.
Trip Ends

EXCELLENT Based on 53 reviews Posted on Google Ayush KathouteTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Pangarchulla Peak trek ek amazing aur challenging experience hai. Yaha se Himalayan mountains ka 360° view milta hai jo bilkul breathtaking hai. Trek thoda tough hai, especially summit push, lekin upar pahunchne ke baad jo feeling aati hai wo sab thakan bhula deti hai. Snow trek ho to experience aur bhi adventure wala ho jata hai. Nature lovers aur adventure seekers ke liye ye trek definitely worth it hai. 🏔️Posted on Google Pankaj SinghTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
